Gambini is back! Theresa Cototi is young and pretty but far from innocent, and darn her luck...her boyfriend has just been scraped off the pavement after taking a header from eight stories up. You'd better believe she's going to trial, charged with murder one.
Aided by Lisa and a ragtag team of misfits, Vinny defends his client against overwhelming odds. Our endearing neophyte attorney must match wits with a cunning DA and a formidable influence peddler who appears to anticipate his every move. In the balance hangs the life of a woman he believes to be innocent. Or is she? Yes, Vinny may have finally won his first case, but his and Lisa's story is far from over. Am I sure? Yeah! Really, really enjoyed this book! And I concur with some of the other reviewers about liking "My Cousin Vinny" adding an additional layer of enjoyment. Do yourself a favor and make this your next read! It will not disappoint!
it's a laugh a minute right from the get go. You can picture Vinny and Lisa as you read about their new escapades. They are a modern version of the Bickersons and you love them. it's about time someone came up with the idea of re-creating old friends with a new twist. way to go larry. i can't wait to get back to the book and see the plot enfold.
This is not just a great book with some great parts . . . this is book where almost every line is a pleasure to read. What a hot-mess riot! Love that Vinnie and Lisa are back in a whole new way. Lawrence Kelter pulled off a great feat here making good on a sequel from a beloved movie.
A fun read that continues where the 1992 film, My Cousin Vinny, leaves off. The familiar great characters lead you through another trial where Vinny is the defendant's attorney. If you are from the New York area, you will appreciate the local lingo and if you are not, you'll learn. An enjoyable read. I look forward to the next installment.
Never thought it possible to have a sequel to one of the best comedies ever. But Kelter has obviously invested himself emotionally into the funniest couple in cinema and he has adapted their personalities accurately with this book. It's clever, hysterical and inviting as you are glad to be part of the Vinny and Lisa world all over again. In fact you don't want it to end. Of course there is some high drama thrown in to keep things moving but certainly this is a home run and the perfect follow up to the greatest movie couple of modern time. Can't wait to dive back in for another go. Love the new extended family introduced into the book,particularly brother Joe. Well done Mr. Kelter for having the passion and guts to get this written and to do it well. Just the right amount of hat tips to the original movie without being cheesy and overly gratuitous.
Back To Brooklyn is a continuation of the movie, My Cousin Vinny. The movie was great because the characters were great. Well, they're back. Vinny and Lisa are back home in Brooklyn and it's like the movie just continued. If you read this book and don't laugh non-stop, then you probably don't have a sense of humor. I can't wait for the next installment to be published.
The short length of each chapter and the clever chapter titles keep this sequel moving along at a highly enjoyable and engaging pace!
The return of Vincent Laguardia Gambini back to his roots after successfully defending two "yoots" in Alabama is hilarious. A walk past memory lane and into an anticipated sequel brilliantly conceived by this talented writer.
